Just 3 weeks to the start of the walk and still so much to do. But we’ll get it done. You’d think old retirees would have more free time, but this is busier than a paying job.
I’ve worked up to walking twice a day and have completed two days at 22 miles each (12 in the morning and 10 in the afternoon). Hasn’t been a problem in the beautiful weather and flat terrain in Destin. Next step–consecutive days with two-a-days. I’ll have plenty of time to worry about mountains and desert later.
Our shake-down, de-winterize camping trip is scheduled this weekend. Time to see if we can get everything working and how two people and a pup can get along in less than 300 square feet. We can probably survive one night. Ask us later after 180 nights.
Speaking of getting things going, we’ve had a terrible experience so far getting our tracking satellite working with Direct TV on the RV. If anyone has expertise with this, we could use help when back in Raleigh on Feb 22-27. Can’t imagine living without TV for half a year.
