Hometown is in sight. I will be walking in downtown Raleigh on Thursday, March 15, hopefully with many of you. Plans call for us to start on the south side of the Capitol Building at 11:00AM. We can all make the heart sign with our hands (see photo of two of our granddaughters, Ashley and Olivia) to kick-off our walk. Here’s the planned path for the day:
From the Capitol, south down Fayetteville Street.
Right on Lenoir Street for one block.
Right again (north) on Salisbury Street where we’ll stop briefly at the Convention Center and statue of Sir Walter Raleigh.
Continue north on Salisbury Street to Hillsborough Street.
Left on Hillsborough Street for as long as you want to walk with me.
The route from the Capitol to the Salisbury/Hillsborough turn is approximately one mile. Continuing on to the Bell Tower at NC State is just 2.6 miles. To the Fairgrounds, 5 miles. Walk with me for as little or as much as you can. I welcome the company of family, friends and supporters. And I appreciate all the followers of Heart Trek USA.
Heart Health Hint: 30 minutes of exercise a day keeps the cardiologist away.
