Heart Trek USA is a 3,000 mile walk in support of the American Heart Association (AHA) to promote heart health through exercise.
AHA is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke, teaming with volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases. The organization has funded more than $3.3 billion for research since 1949.
AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting cardiovascular diseases with over 22.5 million volunteers and supporters around the country. The organization is a leader in CPR training, helping people understand the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and providing guidelines to healthcare professionals. AHA also educates lawmakers and the public as advocates for policy changes to protect the public’s health.
AHA’s mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. They have set a goal for the year 2020 to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans, while also reducing cardiovascular disease and stroke deaths by 20 percent.
Cardiovascular diseases are largely preventable through lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, controlling blood pressure, eating foods low in saturated fat and cholesterol, being physically active, maintaining a healthy body weight and managing diabetes.

We are proud to support Colon as he walks across the nation, literally putting feet to the street, to raise awareness and funds for cardiovascular disease and inspiring people along the way.
Heart disease is America’s No. 1 killer, and stroke ranks fourth. Each year these diseases kill more than 813,000 Americans, more than the next three causes of death combined. More than 82 million Americans have one or more forms of cardiovascular disease.
Let’s put an end to these devastating statistics. Please join us in supporting Heart Trek USA!
